Mortgage interest relief

Their is now uncertainty in regard to when mortagge interest relief will be abolished.
Mortgage interest relief for new buyers was expected to be abolished in June 2011 under the new programme for Government. However no firm date has has yet been set and there are rumours that it mat y be extended until year end.
It was also expected that relief on existing mortgages, for those who bought during the boom period from 2004 to 2008 would be increased to 30%.
