Zurich are a market leader in life insurance and mortgage protection and offer some of the lowest premiums available in the market, their mortgage protection product has a guaranteed insurability option.

For example, if you are an existing home owner you may decide at some stage to buy a new home, and need to increase your mortgage.

Guaranteed insurability lets you increase your mortgage protection without providing further medical evidence. This benefit is available up to age 55 and up to a maximum of the lesser of €100,000 and 50% of your original sum insured. You can do this an unlimited number of times but the total increase must not exceed the lesser of €200,000 and your original sum insured.

Your premium will be adjusted accordingly. This option ends on your 55th birthday (if the cover is on a single life basis) or on the 55th birthday of the older person insured (if the cover is on a joint life basis). This benefit is subject to underwriting at the start of the policy.
